@04:07It's really cute, but I totally don't understand it. I mean, I get that the flower died and everything, but I think I'm really just missing the symbolism of it.

@01:20Thanks! =3 I love cute, and I thought it would be a great way to show something dramatic, though it might not be that evident right now, hopefully it would in the future when I make more episodes. =]

@01:11If you heard that weird static noise, no it's not your speaker's fault. During my trial plays that noise didn't appear at all after the fall noise, it somehow showed up after I compiled everything.

PS: I made that adoable squish noise by dropping a beanie toy.

@03:50The inspiration for this ending is from the ending of Sailormoon S. I loved the melody that went with the credit animations, it had a sad feeling to it, and a beautiful one as well. I wanted to create the same emotions I felt while watching the credits of Sailormoon.

@01:50At first I had the same idea, but to many of the people who viewed it before it was released thought the sudden scene changes were confusing, they didn't realize that it was suppose to be a change in time. But I guess I can't please everybody, but I totally agree that the abrupt transitions are nicer, but since this was pretty slow paced, I though something like the ripples would be more effective.

Lost Bear - Episode 1

Completed: Nov 25th '08
Medium: Maya, Photoshop CS2, Adobe After Effects, Fruity Loops
Time: Approx 2 months

*This is my first 3d animation, so please bear with the crudiness =P*

This is the first episode of a planned series I'm working on. My purpose in creating this project is to hopefully make issues that were ignored in our society, more visible.
Hopefully some of you will understand what I was trying to get across with this piece.

Since it just turned Dec 1st, I thought this would be the perfect time to premier it. With the cold winds billowing, the warmth within us begins to wither.

This is my first 'completed' animation, so don't be too hard on critisms, but any helpful critiques or feedback would be much appreciated.

For BEST QUALITY, watch it from downloading.

Do you have to make 1 frame at the time? Just like animation with a camera?
Reply
:iconjustinchee:
JustinChee Featured By Owner Feb 28, 2009
Thankfully with 3D animation (or 3D computer animation) you don't have to make 1 frame at a time, you can have a ball in one place, then 20 frames later just edit it, and then the computer will fill in the blanks for you, but sometimes it's best to do things in smaller number of frames for a better outcome... if that makes sense ><.

So in conclusion no, you don't HAVE to make it 1 frame at a time =P

PS: Another beauty about 3D computer animation, you can add an object in the frames that you already completed and not mess jepordize having to re-do everything. =3...

=3 I'm using Maya, but it's not a free program, you could also use blender, it's a free program and I think the too are similar in a couple of ways. =P

For me, the most time consuming part is making the models, I like to be a perfectionist ><

And thanks! it was grusomely boring (but addictingly fun-ish) to do all of that work, I tend to enjoy imagining things and hoping it would be done instead of doing it my self =P. But at least this is good experience! And hopefully since I'm familiar with it now it wouldn't be so boring =3.
